we have the poorest residents in san francisco. we have lgbt. we have immigrants, people of color, youth, and a high proportion of seniors in the city as well. we heard that people want to see more jobs, want to see access to more jobs for our residents. we want to see more preventive instead of just reactive. we want to see after-school programs versus the police picking them up because they are out on the street, which i think our chief agrees with. i actually ran for the board of education in san francisco and got to serve a term on our school board. what really surprised me was how much i enjoyed it. i loved it. i love meeting with families, meeting with youth, meeting with teachers, visiting schools, and getting a deeper understanding of what it means to make our system work better. the one thing i really enjoyed was i got to run within a district instead of citywide, was that i really got to know voters and residents. i actually enjoy campaigning more because i had time to knock on doors and the voters individually. i'd love it. i actually

the impact of the loss of these events is a loss for san francisco culture and our economy. it will take the right perspective of leadership from the mayor's office to make those events be able to happen. >> [unintelligible] [applause] >> i am very sorry that we lost some of these events. i'm sure they added to cultural diversity. i do know that looking at the board, there are 280 events in a given year. street fairs, hip-hop, promotional events. there is only so much that we can do. we have to make sure that every event has enough personnel to keep it safe. be it the security plan, officers, or police officers. that is one thing i failed to mention earlier. paramount to training for an event that has enough people to prevent anything disastrous from occurring, you never know what can be prevented, because you never know what you can stop from happening. you never know if people have enough resources to make sure they do not have a problem. >> down to the last few questions, we are running out of time. >> let's see how quick we can get to it. >> ok. >> we will be really fast

i am here, president of the (inaudible) and food association and also of the san francisco council of district mer khents associations. for the longest time this part of san francisco is a neglected area and nothing really happening there and it has been shady. so i would applaud jen and drew for coming in and helping to revitalize this area. i think that it is going to be a great establishment and we will know that (inaudible) is moving in and the residential building built across the street and it is going to be a great destination and a location for others. one thing that we really like about the beer hall is that it is not going to provide employment just for people that will be working there but also, what it will be doing is it will be outside this hand craft beers will be provided beer to this establishment. so you will be creating work for other small businesses. so you can have other smaller and brewerries that will be providing the beer to this establishment and also the wine, so i urge you to please approve this. i think that an off sale will be good again if you are living
